Transforming: Street Objects from Your Street to Main Street Found and/or Transformed: Reimagining the Streets

Site: Brooklyn
Curated by Kimberly Marrero
International Juried Art Exhibition NYC
November 24 – December 22, 2015

What if we could reimagine or transform everyday objects into something remarkable and different, even if only for a brief moment?

We invite artists to submit images of found or created temporary outdoor sculptures made with objects on the streets of their own communities. By witnessing and documenting through the camera lens, these images present the everyday in a new conceptual light. Original objects privately owned or city sanctioned may not be damaged or permanently altered in any way and must be left in original condition.

Please submit your work as A4 or (8.5”x11”) or A3 (11”x17”) digital print.

In August 2014, Independent Curator Kimberly Marrero presented her project Transforming NYC Street Objects which invited New Yorkers the rare opportunity to transform their local communities into a formal work of art. The call resulted in thousands of submissions. New Yorkers responded with brilliant compositions using NYC as their backdrop. Due to its great success the curator and Site:Brooklyn are now taking this project global. We are inviting a broader audience to transform their own communities into a work of art.
